At the beginning of the week, our focus for the documentary got changed as we asked Mr Andrews for feedback. So our new focus is fake profile which is way clearer than our first one. So here is our plan for the documentary:
At the beginning of the week, our focus for the documentary got changed as we asked Mr Andrews for feedback. So our new focus is fake profile which is way clearer than our first one. So here is our plan for the documentary:
Introduction:
- Introduce social media in today’s context
- What is social media?
- The rise of social media and the social media today
- Talk briefly about the positivity of social media then go to the negatives
- Tell the main point of the documentary (which is our ideology)
- Tell the four points- comes into
Example: However, social media can create negative psychological effect teenagers such as the
cyberbullying and its effects (In short)
Although, I feel that we might fall behind a little bit in terms of planning and we need to start filming soon.
Week 5
At the beginning of the week, we decided that we need to finish the script in order to write about our treatment and three column script. So that is what we focus on the beginning of the week.
Tuesday:
We decided to practise interviews to see how long and well we set up our equipment. Overall, the filming was great and we learned a great deal about how we can set the lights towards the interviewee. Although, the microphone picked up background noise but it can be fixed on post or we know how to change the setting on the microphone.
The script is improving which means our time management is also improving.
Wednesday:
Mr Andrews extended us the due date which is good so I can adjust the treatment and the three column script better.
The script is complete which is excellent.
Also, Mr Andrews gave us his feedback on Tuesday's filming and said that the exposure could be a little better but he will help us on the day.
Friday:
We slowly start searching for potential interviewers for interviews and set it up possibly.
Weekend:
I originally planning to do animation during the weeked but due to the extension of the design due date, I will have to look at it later next week.
We found one potential interviewee that can be interviewed which is a good start.
Slowly starting writing questions
Overall, I felt that the last two weeks was that we were not organised enough. Even though we had a main idea for the documentary, I felt that we were not ready to fully plan due to not having a concrete idea of how are we going with the documentary. As the result, we were behind in terms of timing as we were meant to start filming on week 5 which we were not doing yet. However, there are few things that we were satisfied such as we practise a fake interview and how fast we can set up. I feel that if we manage to get ahead next week, we will be fine.
Photos of the planning:
Point 1: Narcissism and Vanity
- Fake profiles (better than reality-hyper reality)
- Fake perfection, unattainable goals
- Fake persona/life
- Rewarded for doing nothing
- Construct
Link: This fake profile impacts on the self-esteem of the viewers
Point 2: Self-esteem
Those who view the fake profile would result in lowering their self-esteem and want to achieve
untaintable goal
untaintable goal
- Tears down self-esteem
Link: Those who try to become what they cannot achieve would lead to obsession or addiction with
social media
social media
Point 3: Addiction
- This would create dopamine in which leads to users becoming addicted
- Other factors that lead to addiction: Addiction starting youth-> reward for nothing
- Differences and similarities between social media addicts and drug addicts (Compare them)
- Have an interview with Gabby’s mother about the drug addict
- Ask some students about if their phone 1% or taking away
Link: These addictions would lead to catastrophic results
Point 4: The consequences of the fake profiles
Rewarded for nothing
Job
- Jobless/Skilless
Health
- Suicide
- Death
- Depression
- Eating disorder
Social
- Isolation
Conclusion
Although, I feel that we might fall behind a little bit in terms of planning and we need to start filming soon.
