Changes from the original plan

During the filming of the short film, I have encountered some difficulties that made me change some aspect of my film from the treatment.


Shot 11: Bianca playing tennis to skipping rope 

I originally had Bianca playing tennis in a profile shot but then the tennis court is booked for other activities and so decided to have her do skipping rope which is close to Anderson's style.

Shot 13: Awards
Originally, I had a plan where all the awards are shown through a pan but when I filmed, it did not work and so I instead did with a quick movement with the camera; because Anderson sometimes use it in his films. However, Mr Andrew's feedback made me change to a still shot of each picture as he suggests it.

 Shot 15: Mother drinking tea
For this one, I just change locations because the classrooms where all booked and so I had to resort to outside.

Shot 22: Basketball competition
Originally, I want to do a zoom out and a dolly out at the same time. However, it did not work out properly due to the lens and so I decided to do a shot with no movements.

 Shot 25: Running race
Originally, I plan to film this shot with the gimbal when the sisters ran the race. However, I had difficulties to work it out and so I had to move the camera like Wes Anderson with his pan.

Shot 31 to 35: Elevator scene to stairs
I just change location from the elevator to stairs because I did not think it will not work out with the elevator.

Finally, I have added a title in between scenes to make the transition flow better and this match Anderson's style where he adds chapter names.

Documentary Animation: Video Scribe and Power Toon

This term was a special term for animation. Our documentary required animation to produce some statistics. Therefore, we need to find animation software to satisfy our wants. There was two animation software I mentioned in my design which is VideoScribe and PowToon . In this post, I will reflect on my use of both software as I did try animate with both while I was editing the documentary. VideoScribe VideoScribe was an easy software to use since I have used it before for other school projects. Therefore, I knew how to get the animation such as moving the characters or write a text. Here are the things I have done so far with the program. (Photos will be posted) However, there were disadvantages that were associated with the program. It only allows me to use for seven days since it was a free trial. Documentary Interviews

This task introduced us to a new technique in filming documentaries which are interviews. For the first few weeks, Adele and I decided it was the best to conduct mock interviews so we know how will the interview be on the actual days. This way we can be prepared and all of this is thanks from Mr Andrews and past students who gave us tips to always practise before doing the real thing. Therefore, throughout the project, we were ready for our interviews and were not stressed out. However, we came across some issues along the way.
