Year 11 Film Television and New Media Production Task 11.1 – Term 01 Mr. Andrews

Self-reflection and evaluation: Please answer each question using complete sentences, including as much detail as possible.   1. Discuss your feelings about the production task: Please justify your responses: • Are you satisfied with your trailer? (i.e. did it turn out as well as you hoped?) I am satisfied with my trailer as it turned out well as I hoped. The story line was what I have imagined and there were no plot holes as I have imagined. Although the colour correction was different than what I originally imagined, it still worked and I am happy with the result. I wanted to create a cold feeling to match the story line therefore I managed to create that. • Did the project require more/less time than you originally thought? The project did require more time than I originally thought as I had to re film some shots that needed to change or redo it. Other than that, the filming went smoothly than I have imagined even though i was busy with other commitments. The editing took ...

Week 6: Filming

First Lesson: 27/02/17 On the first lesson of the week, I showed to Mr Andrews the rough edit so far. The feedback he gave to me were that the rough edit was good. However, there are some changes to be made such as at the beginning, it is a bit jumpy since I edited shots in one seconds. Therefore I need to make it longer. Also he told me that instead have the newspaper o the wall, I should spread it out on the table. It is to establish my character in which she is desperately finding the culprit of the murder. Furthermore, he told me for colour correction, I should go for blue tone to show the sadness of the trailer. Also, I need voice-over to establish the narrative in which I will do that later on. Later on the lesson, I looked at the film to see anything that needed to be changed. I saw that shot no. 2, I should have the character in front of a white background instead of a room to control the lighting and also creating a shadow on her. On the shot of "Two victims killed...

First lesson: 20/02/17 On this lesson, we got our draft back for the character outline and storyboard. The feedback I mostly received concerned the character outline. Mr Andrews told me that some sentences are awkward meaning I had to change the expression on some sentences. Also, he mentioned that one of the sentences says that it looks like she died. Instead, he suggested she may be in dangerous situations. Also, he said to change the structure of outline and some sentence structure. Afterward, I have created a prop list for the trailer. Prop list   Afterward, I planned out the schedule for this week. Since I would be busy with musicals, I tried to find days I could film. Here is the schedule for that week. After school, I start filming the trailer. I have done the first two shots with some of the newspaper shots done. What went well was that I managed to start filming the trailer. Although, while filming, I realised that when I filmed the first few shots with a ...
