Week 7: Film Noir
21/08 and 22/08 We continue watching the film and on the last lesson we have finish it. We discuss the film noir elements explored in the film such as how there is magaffin where the object is not really revealed such as the Maltese Bird in the film turns out to be a fake. Also the female lead was definitely a femme fatale character. Afterwards, we discuss the next task which is a design suit where we need to come up a fairy tale film noire style short film. We need to plan the shot list and have the treatment done. So first we need to find people to be in a group. 24/08 We watch "Web of Lies" to identify film noir elements and also we saw the opening of Blade Runner which had some Film Noir elements. Then I look at Film Noir ingredients lists to see what I like and highlight them. 25/08 We first look at a music video as another example of film noir visuals.
